학습자에게 일방적으로 정보와 지식을 전달하는 교수방법에서 벗어나 팀을 학습에 활용하는 팀 기반학습의 효과성이 확인되며 대학 교육에서 다양하게 활용되고 있다. 본 연구는 사회복지교육에 팀 기반학습의 교수방법을 활용하여 대학 사회복지교육에서 「사회문제론」수업을 설계하고 그 운영과정과 학습자 참여수준의 효과성을 평가하는 데 목적이 있다. W대학교 사회복지전공에서 2018년 1학기에 개설된 교과목에 팀 기반학습의 원칙에 따라 수업을 설계하고 운영하였으며, 수업에 참여한 학습자 중 설문에 유효하게 응답한 45명을 대상으로 수업 사전, 중간, 사후 시점에 학습자 수업참여수준을 분석한 결과, 유의하게 수업참여 수준이 높아진 것으로 확인되었다. 이는 팀 기반학습이 대학 사회복지교육에서 효과적인 교수학습방법으로서 활용될 수 있음을 시사하며, 이를 토대로 사회복지교육 적용 가능성을 논의하였다.
Team-Based Learning (TBL), which utilizes team structures to facilitate learning, has been applied in various university educational settings as an alternative to one-directional teacher transmission of information and knowledge to learners. The purpose of this study was to design and implement a college-level “social problem” curriculum using TBL, which has been relatively less studied in social welfare, and to evaluate the effectiveness of learning engagement in this setting. In the first semester of 2018 at W university, the course was designed and implemented according to the principles of TBL. Forty-five students who participated in the class were surveyed on the learning engagement in order to evaluate the effectiveness of the TBL. Results showed that the level in learning engagement were significantly different between pretest and posttest. Therefore TBL may be an effective teaching and learning method in social welfare education.
