The purpose of this study is to identify the tasks for the independent living of the developmental disabled living in residential facilities and develop a supported housing program for individuals based on Living lab method. In order to develop the user-centered program, stakeholders including people with developmental disability, their family members, service workers, and specialists in the field develop a program using Living lab method which people come together to solve the common problem.
Following the Living lab method, this study consists of five stages and each stage identifies the needs and purposes of the stakeholders. As a result, based on the concepts of relative independence and supported living , the desire of the developmental disabled living in residential facilities for supported housing program for individuals was identified, as the program prepares them for independent living before their actual independent living in community. The program which aids supported housing program for individuals was organized, ran and analyzed. The effectiveness of the user-centered program through Living Lab model and the possibility of the developed program being applied to different types of modules to support the independence of the persons with developmental disability was reaffirmed.
