본 연구의 목적은 ‘예술작품을 활용한 대학의 ‘교양기초교과’를 개발하는 것’이다. 각 시대별 문화의 정수라 할 수 있는 ‘예술 작품’을 통하여 그 시대의 문화를 이해하고 그 문화 속에 살았던 인류의 삶을 통하여 성장하는 인간이 시대적, 사회 문화적 배경에서 어떠한 창조적 가능성을 펼치고 실현해 왔는지를 이해하고자 한다. 이를 바탕으로 오늘의 삶이나 현실의 문제를 교육학적 관점에서 진단하고 해결할 수 있는 지혜와 인문학적 소양을 기르는데 기여하고자 한다. 연구방법은 교육현장을 직접 경험했을 때에만 그 의미를 제대로 파악할 수 있는 ‘실행연구’로 진행하였으며, 예술에 의한 이해 확장 측면을 고려한 ‘예술기반 교육연구’에 기초 하였다. 수업에 활용된 예술작품은 수업주제와의 ‘연관성’, 작품자체의 ‘객관성’, 학습활동의 ‘효율 성’을 중심으로 엄선하여 진행하였다. 연구의 결과 예술작품을 활용한 수업은 학습활동 그 자체가 학생들의 ‘예술작품’ 임을 확인하였다. 학습활동에서의 예술작품은 수업내용의 효과적인 매개체임과 동시에 수업에 대한 흥미와 관심을 갖게 하여 학습 동기를 유발하는 데 핵심적인 역할을 담당하였다. 또한 수업내용을 이해하는데 매우 긍정적으로 작용하였으며 학생 스스로에 대한 성찰의 기회를 제공하는 의미 있는 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 결과적으로 이러한 수업과정으로서 학습자들의 ‘예술작품’은 새로운 교육적 의미와 가치를 찾아가는 창의적 사고형성의 근원임을 알 수 있었다.
The purpose of this study is to develop a general basic curriculum for college using art works. It is also to understand the culture of the era through the work of art which might be the essence of the culture of each period, and to understand what kind of creative possibility the growing human being could unfold and realize in the epochal and socio-cultural background through the lives of human beings who lived in the culture. Based on this, it is to contribute to the development of life wisdom and humanistic literacy that can diagnose and solve the current problems of life or reality from an educational point of view. The research proceeded as an action research which can grasp the meaning only when experienced directly in the field of education, and its method was based on art-based education considering the expansion of understanding by art. The works of art used in the class were carefully selected based on the association with the lesson subject, the objectivity of the work itself, and the efficiency of learning activities. As a result of the study, it was confirmed that the lesson itself using works of art is the students work of art . The works of art in learning activities was an effective medium of class contents, and played an important role in inducing motivation to learn by attracting excitement and interest in classes. In addition, it was very positive for understanding the contents of the class and a meaningful result was gained that provided an opportunity for reflection on the students themselves. As a result, the work of art of learners as the curriculum was found out to be the source of creative thinking formation seeking a new educational meaning and value.
