본 연구에서는 G광역시의 발달장애인 평생교육에 대한 인식 조사를 통하여 보호자와 후견인들의 교육실태, 교육과정 편성 및 운영, 그리고 발전방안에 대해 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 연구자들이 수정, 개발한 발달장애인 평생교육 관련하여 구성한 설문지 중 208명의 응답을 분석하였다. 하위 분석 내용은 크게 발달장애인 평생교육 실태, G광역시 평생교육과정 편성 및 운영, 그리고 G광역시 발달장애 평생교육의 발전방안이었다. 그 결과 첫째, 발달장애인 평생교육 실태 조사 결과 평생교육 참여경험을 물어본 질문에 가장 이용경험이 많은 기관으로는 복지관이라고 응답하였다. 둘째, G광역시 평생교육과정 편성 및 운영에 있어서 발달장애인의 지역사회중심 평생교육을 위해 새로운 교육과정 개발 필요성에 대해서는 매우 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, G광역시 발달장애인 평생교육의 발전방안에 대한 의견을 살펴본 결과, 전문 강사의 선호도는 ‘특수교사’가 가장 높았으며, 발달장애인지원센터의 고유 업무 외에 발달장애인 성인 평생교육 서비스 제공여부에 대해서 많은 응답자가 수행하는 것을 원하고 있었다. 이외 다양한 결과에 대한 논의와 후속 연구에 대한 제안을 제시하였다.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the awareness of lifelong education for the people with developmental disabilities in G metropolitan city through the perception of parents and guardians. For the purpose of this study, the researchers developed the questionnaires and 208 responses from a total of 500 were collected and analyzed. The detailed analysis includes the current status of lifelong education for adults with developmental disabilities, formation and operation of lifelong education curriculum for G metropolitan city, and developmental strategy of lifelong education for adults with developmental disabilities. The results of the study are as follows. First, through the perceptions on their experience in lifelong education, the most frequently used institution for lifelong education was a welfare center. Second, it was recognized that a new separate educational curriculum should be developed for the community-based lifelong education of people with developmental disabilities. Third, through the perceptions on the developmental strategies of lifelong education for adults with developmental disabilities in G metropolitan city, special education teachers were most preferred as professional instructors. In addition, it was recognized that the center for developmental disabilities support should provide lifelong education services for adults with developmental disabilities in addition to their own tasks. The discussions and future researches were suggested.
