본 연구는 실제 학교폭력 처리 과정에서 교사와 교장의 행동 양태를 분석하여 지도성 발휘가 필요한 지점을 찾아내고 학교 갈등관리 지도성을 심층적으로 파악하는데 목적이 있다. 본 연구결과, 해당 담임 교사는 학교폭력 처리 과정에서 과도한 업무와 역할을 요구받고 있었고, 부정적인 정서적 경험을 받고 있었다. 학교장은 공립 인문계 고등학교 경영에 있어서 학교폭력 사안이 그다지 중요하지 않다고 인식하고 있었고, 학부모와 학교와의 갈등과 학부모와 교사와의 갈등에서 적당히 감정을 받아주면서 일회적인 대응을 하는데 그쳤다. 이러한 임기응변식 대응은 사건의 이해를 왜곡하여 학부모들 간 그리고 학부모와 교사 간의 갈등을 부추기는 결과를 낳았다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 학교폭력 사안에서 나타난 갈등을 효과적으로 대처하기 위한 학교 갈등관리 전략에 대한 제언을 하였다.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the behaviors of teachers and principals in the process of actual school violence, to find the points where the principal s leadership needs to be demonstrated and to grasp the conflict management leadership in depth. As a result of this study, the homeroom teacher was asked to overwork and role in school violence processing and had negative emotional experience. The school principals recognized that violence in schools was not important in the management of public high schools, and they only temporarily responded to the emotional conflict between the parents and the school and the conflict between the parents and the teachers. This ad hoc response has distorted the understanding of the events, resulting in conflicts between parents and between parents and teachers. Based on the results of the study, I suggested a conflict management strategy to effectively cope with conflicts in school violence.
