The aims of this study is to identify the effects and changes of group art therapy in fostering resilience in female adolescents. This case proceeded from November, 27, 2019 to December, 23, 2019, 1-2 times per week, for a total of 6 sessions during the participants’ extra-curricular activity hours for experimental group at A girls’ high-school located in Seoul. The group art therapy fostering resilience included art therapy elements based on the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education’s 6 step program for reinforcement of resiliency and reconstructed to suit the participants. The results of this study is first, the group art therapy had a positive effect on improving the resilience in female adolescents. Second, the group art therapy had significant effect on cause analysis, impulse control, and optimism in the sub-factors of resilience. Third, through session analysis, participants experienced active self-regulation and control, and change on their optimistic view of the future in the group art therapy. The significance of this study can be found in the empirical study proved group art therapy’s effectiveness and necessity in order to improve resilience for female adolescents.
