The study aims to look into what experiences elementary school seniors subject to group art therapy aimed at promoting recovery resilience get to have. To this end, the study involved case study method to take a close look at the 6 female seniors at A elementary school in Seoul. The short-term intensive group art therapy, presented as a case by the study, was performed 5 times a week for 100 minutes at a time from Aug. 3, 2020 through Aug. 14. The times such art therapy was performed during such period totaled 10.
Based on the study on experiences for the group art therapy concludes that: First, the subjects were able to express themselves and deepen understanding of themselves. Second, the subjects were able to increase self-recognition by looking at themselves more objectively through art activities and experience a sense of accomplishment by engaging in art activity leading to discovery of their own resource. Third, the subjects were able to experience positive interaction it the course of group art therapy, through which they were able to encourage and support one another to look forward to successful future.
