본 연구에서는 유아기 자녀를 둔 부부의 아동기 부모애착과 양육행동 간의 관계를 애착 불안과 애착 회피가 매개하는지 구조모형을 통해 검증하였다. 이를 위해 만 3∼5세 자녀를 둔 부부 238쌍의 자료를 수집하였고, 긍정적 양육행동과 부정적 양육행동, 각각에 대한 모형으로 구분하여 APIM 모형을 적용하여 분석하였다. 본 연구의 주요 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 아버지의 아동기 모애착은 긍정 및 부정적 양육행동에, 어머니의 아동기 모애착은 부정적 양육행동에만 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 부부의 아동기 모애착과 긍정 및 부정적 양육행동 간의 관계에서 애착 불안이 매개역할을, 부부의 아동기 부애착과 모애착 모두 긍정적 양육행동 간의 관계에서 애착 회피가 매개역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 배우자의 양육행동에 영향을 미치는 성인애착의 상대방효과는 모두 유의하지 않았다. 본 연구는 긍정적 양육행동과 부정적 양육행동을 예측하는 아동기 부모애착과 성인애착의 영향을 세분화하여 양육행동에 영향을 미치는 부모 요인을 구체적으로 확인한 것에 의의가 있다. 본 연구결과는 양육에 어려움을 호소하는 부모들을 위한 개입 방안을 마련하는 데 유용한 기초자료로 제공될 수 있을 것이다.
The purpose of this study is to examine the direct and indirect effects (through adult attachment) of childhood attachment on parenting behavior of couples with a preschooler (age 3 to 5). A total of 238 couples responded to questionnaires. The actor-partner interdependence model was used for the dyadic data analysis. The main findings of the study are as follows. First, for fathers, childhood attachment to mothers had direct effects on positive and negative parenting behaviors. For mothers, childhood attachment to mothers had a direct effect on negative behavior. Second, couples’ childhood attachment to mothers had indirect effects on positive and negative parenting behavior through attachment anxiety. Couples’ childhood attachment to fathers and mothers had indirect effects on positive parenting behavior through attachment avoidance. Third, none of the partner effects of adult attachment to parenting behavior were significant. Our study findings emphasize the importance of childhood attachment and adult attachment in parenting behavior. This study can be used as sources for establishing programs for parents who have difficulty in parenting.
