Jeju Island has established a number of museums and art galleries by promoting the Island of Culture and Art, but most of them are made up of spaces for tourists. In this situation of Jeju Island, the Cultural Space Yang in the nature of alternative space has been actively promoting the arts of the region by operating a cultural and artistic space for the village focusing on the village. Thus, this study analyzed the operation status and programs of the Cultural Space Yang, which is striving to revitalize local art by utilizing unused and misused space around Georo Village in Jeju Island, to find out how unused and misused space is used. In addition, we intend to derive the characteristics of the unused and misused space utilization of local art and the Cultural Space Yang and explore the limitations and improvements of cultural and artistic space including the Cultural Space Yang in Jeju Island. As Jeju Island s inflow sources have increased in recent years, Jeju Island needs to establish a cultural and artistic space for local residents, not just for visitors, and support private-led institutions that strive to revitalize local arts.
