The purpose of this study is to verify the mediating effect of spiritual health in the relationship between Christian self-esteem and elderly loss. To this end, a questionnaire survey was conducted on 241 elderly people over 65 years of age who live in Jeonbuk, and the research results are as follows. First, in the relationship between Christian self-esteem, elderly loss, and spiritual health, self-esteem and spiritual health were found to have a negative correlation with elderly loss, and self-esteem and spiritual health were found to have a positive correlation. Second, spiritual health has a partial mediating effect in the relationship between Christian self-esteem and elderly loss. Third, both religious and existential spiritual health, which are sub-factors of spiritual health, showed a partial mediating effect in the relationship between self-esteem and elderly loss. The results of these studies show that spiritual health can play an important role as a factor to prevent the decline in self-esteem leading to a decrease in the sense of loss of the elderly, and that both religious and existential spiritual health are important.
