This study conducted an Transactional Analysis Counseling program with the aim of improving the self-esteem of adolescents. The subjects of this study were first-year middle school male students residing in S-city, Gyeonggi-do. A total of 8 sessions were conducted for 50 minutes once a week, including pre- and post-tests. As a measuring tool, the self-esteem scale translated by Kang Jong-gu (1986) was used as a pre- and post-test. For data analysis, the pattern of changes in the pre- and post-test scores was compared and analyzed, and the testimonials and observation records of the participants, researchers, or research assistants were qualitatively analyzed. The result of this study is a single counseling case study for improving self-esteem of adolescents. By combining art activities, participants can explore their emotions in the counseling process, express and resolve negative emotions through emotional relaxation and expression work, and through exchange analysis, They experienced emotional stability due to the therapeutic intervention of sufficient support and encouragement. Therefore, it influenced positive emotions and self-image reformation by identifying one's conversational patterns through exchange analysis and allowing them to positively accept and express emotions and situations through complementary exchange and reverse exchange. In conclusion, the Transactional Analysis Counseling program to improve self-esteem helped relieve emotional tension and relax, and by showing changes in the verbal expression of negative CP emotions and inexpressible inner emotions in AC, it was a chance to experience life re-determination and experience self-expression.
