The purpose of this study is to qualitatively explore what kind of experience the elderly with mild dementia living in a facility experience in reminiscence-based art therapy for quality of life, and what the meaning of that experience is. To this end, from March 24, 2023 to April 19, 2023, a total of 10 art therapy case studies were conducted for elderly people with mild dementia living in nursing facilities. A total of 6 upper themes and 13 sub-topics were derived, and the conclusions are as follows. First, through the reminiscence work through the medium of art, the emotions that were in contact with the unresolved difficulties of the past were resolved, emotional stability was found, and joy and meaning were found in daily life. Second, by re-evaluating the value of the children who have supported themselves in the past and those who have lived hard, they have maintained a positive attitude in life. Third, in art therapy, a positive future image was constructed by revealing the desire to live a life for oneself in the future. Fourth, through the recollection work through the art media, he recalled his past experience reminiscently and maintained the sense of reality through the remaining memory.
