Interruptions to contact, also known as contact boundary disturbance, is a psychopathological theory of gestalt psychotherapy in Korea. This interruptions to contact has been studied from the perspective of contact regulation, the way individuals interact with their environment. More recently, it has been developed into a theory of contact modification. This study examines models of contact boundary disruption from interruptions to contact, contact modification, to the continuum of contact. Subsequently, a continuums of relational contact model was proposed based on several models of contact modification. If the Gestaltists applies the concept of the continuums of relational contact to the therapist-client therapeutic relationship with phenomenal and existential attitudes, it will be possible to practice deeper Gestalt therapy.
