This study aimed to investigate group art therapy using fabric medium affects the depression and self-efficacy of middle-aged women. The participants were 24 members of the cultural center located in G city with mild depression or more. They were divided into an experimental group and a control group each with 12 participants, and they were placed after obtaining consent to participate in the group art therapy program. The study period lasted from the end of October 2021 to January 2022, resulting in a total of 12 sessions (excluding pre- and post-tests) of 80 minutes once a week. As an analysis method, changes in depression and self-efficacy were confirmed quantitatively through the Wilcoxon sign ranking test and qualitatively through the group art therapy for each session. According to the results, first, in the depression test, emotional, motivational, and cognitive symptoms showed statistically significant differences in the pre- and post-tests of the experimental group. Second, in the self-efficacy test, confidence and self-regulating efficacy were statistically significant in the pre- and post-tests of the experimental group. Third, the experimental group regained emotional stability and showed a change in self-confidence through a sense of achievement. The results of this study confirm that the group art therapy program using fabric medium was effective in reducing depression and improving self-efficacy among middle-aged women. Based on these research results, the significance and limitations of this study were discussed.
