This study aimed to investigate art therapy effects based on reality therapy for the improvement of self-esteem of 30's married man. The reality art therapy program consisted of 4 stages based on William Glasser's choice theory and from July 22, 2021 to September 30, 2021, a total of 12 sessions of 1 hour, twice a week, were conducted in a laboratory where access to outsiders was controlled. For measurement the Korean translation of Hudson's Self-Esteem Scale (ISE), K-HTP, and KFD Projection Picture Test were adopted. The results of the pre-post-follow up-test for the measurement and the change by session of the reality art therapy program were analyzed. The results of this study were as follows. The subject of the study revealed a clinically significant self-esteem problem in the pre-test, but was within the normal range in the post-test, confirming that art therapy based on Reality therapy had a positive effect on improving self-esteem of the man. The effect was persistent in the follow-up test conducted 3 months after the program end. Based on research results, the significance and limitations of this study were discussed.
