The purpose of this study is to understand the psychological burnout of special education teachers and to explore 29 researches characteristics published from 2013 to 2021 in Korea. For the analysis of the thesis, keywords such as psychological burnout’, ‘special education teachers’, ‘special’, and ‘burnout’, were searched, and the criteria of the researches were analyzed. The research results are as follows. First, more than three studies related to psychological burnout of special teachers were published annually, and the most common research subjects were special education teachers at special schools. Second, the research method had the most variance analysis among quantitative studies, and the scale used was the scale that translated the MBI of Maslach and Jackson (1981). Third, various research methods such as qualitative research and case studies should be carried out in terms of methodology. Also, it is necessary to examine the reasons for psychological burnout through parameters and regulatory variables. Finally, in order to prevent psychological burnout of special education teachers, suggestions were presented for the necessity of research by subvariable and the support and policy direction necessary for special teachers.
