The purpose of this study was to find out behavior changes (Communication and Interaction) between a mother and a child through Communication Sand Tray. The subjects of this study are psychologically Withdrawn child who lack confidence, was difficult to express her feelings and often sulk, and mother who has dysfunctional type of communication. This study was consisted of pretest, treatment with 12sessions with 90 minutes of each session, and posttest. During the treatment, Communication Sand Tray that was applied to a mother and a child was consisted of seven stages; creating the world, experiencing and rearranging, communicating with the partner, therapy, documentation, transition and finally dismantling the world. Also, from the 2 session until the 11 session, additional activities suggested by the therapist were performed to improve relationship between the mother and the child before the last stage of dismantling the world. The results were as follows: 1. The communication between the mother and the child was affirmatively changed. The mother respected what the child was saying, selected a play after discussing with child and communicated with her child more openheartedly and affirmatively. Also, the child expressed his thoughts clearly, listened to her mother' opinion with interest and responded to it more receptively and actively. 2. The interactions between the mother and the child was affirmatively changed. The mother understood, accepted and supported the childrens behaviors, and reacted to them appropriately emotionally. Also, the child enjoyed a play with the mother, paid attention to it continuously and interacted leading the play.
