The objective of this study is to verify the effect of the photo therapy activities to the self-esteem of children with intellectual disabilities, using film cameras reconstructed by connecting the self-esteem program to the Weiser's photo therapy technology(1999). The objects of this study are 4 children who meet the selection criteria for children with intellectual disabilities, live in J Li, C city of Kang Won Province, and hope, their parents too, to participate in the photo therapy program. The photo therapy activities using film cameras took place twice every week for total 21 sessions. Quantitative and qualitative analyses took place parallelly to verify the problems of this study. As a result, there were positive effects in self-esteem of the photo therapy group. Besides, the objects showed to have positive self images and growth desires through the observations per each session and K-HTP picture inspection. Collectively, it is shown that the photo therapy using film cameras increase self-esteem of children with intellectual disabilities. If various programs using film cameras are run in the education sites, adopted to the children's growth stages, the effect is expected to be even greater.
