우리나라 스포츠 산업의 대부분의 영세한 기업들의 금융·투자 지원에 있어 보유하고 있는 유형자산만으로는 금융·투자 지원은 그 외형적 크기만으로도 한계가 있을 수밖에 없다. 스포츠 산업에서 보유하고 있는 유형자산과 더불어 특허권, 실용신안권, 상표권 등의 산업재산권의 가치평가를 통한 금융·투자 지원으로 보유 자산을 증가하여 이를 기반으로 좀 더 넓은 금융·투자 지원이 이루어져야 한다. 스포츠 산업분야에 집중되어 있는 무형자산 활용에 있어 스포츠 분야의 한 축이 되고 있는 스포츠 선수들이 보유하고 있는 무형자산에 대한 가치평가를 통한 금융·투자 지원도 고려해 봐야 한다고 생각된다. 스포츠 선수들의 연봉 및 계약에 있어서도 주요 선수 이외의 대부분의 선수들에게 있어 정당한 연봉 산정을 통한 근거 있는 금액이 제시되어야 하며 이러한 점에 있어 스포츠 무형자산 가치평가가 기준점으로서의 활용도 고려할 수 있다고 생각된다. 이에 본 연구에서는 스포츠 산업과 스포츠 선수들이 보유하고 있는 무형자산 전반에 대하여 살펴보고 무형자산의 가치평가에 있어 기존 가치평가 요소 이외의 스포츠 분야만의 특성을 반영할 수 있는 부분을 살펴보고 활용할 수 있도록 논의해보고자 한다.
