Describes the pastoral care movement in general and evaluate the adoption of Rogers' approach to pastoral counseling practice. Notice that pastoral care and counseling in Korea focus primarily on intrapersonal relationships without regard for the potential impact of interpersonal relationships. Criticizes Rogers' concept of self as an individualistic model. Claims the necessity to develop an alternative model for pastoral counseling in Korean communities in order to recover the relational self as a therapeutic goal when delivering pastoral care and counseling.
