It is estimated that 4-19% children and adolescents are suffering from anxiety disorder. Early identification and treatment for the children and adolescents will help them to deal with social isolation, interpersonal difficulties and depression. So far, evidence based treatments by using randomization and control group, were behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and group therapy based on CBT. The various cognitive and behavioral techniques were very effective, but the social skills training was most promising. The preventive group treatment programs that were proved to be effective were using CBT skills. Parental involvement and education were necessary and critical conditions for the successful and effective group prevention program for child and adolescent anxiety.
