국문초록

Culture is individualized in that it can describe individual differences in personal evaluation and behaviors. The individualized culture is a psychological trait. In particular, individualism and collectivism have been scrutinized carefully. Verticality and horizontality are added. The relationship of the individualized culture and couple satisfaction is to be analyzed. 10 pastor couples and 13 nonpastor couples completed the revised Triandis(1998)’s Questionnaire on Individualism/Collectivism. And their couple satisfaction was measured by the K-MSI, translated and standardized by Choi and Kwon(1999) after developed by Snyder(1979). The data were analyzed with t-test and Pearson’s coefficient. There were three results. First, there were couple differences in that in the vertical collectivism the husbands were higher than their wives and in the horizontal individualism the wives were higher than their husbands. Second, the husbands’couple satisfaction was correlated to their wives horizontal individualism. Third, in the nonpastor couples communication satisfaction was correlated to sex satisfaction while that was not in the pastor couples. In a pastoral couple counseling, three tasks are presented. First, pastors’ countertransference is to be analyzed for couple counseling. Second, it is suggested to participate in a couple communication training for a pastor couple. Third, couple intimacy is to be enhanced by growing positive emotions in a pastor couple.
