The purpose of this study is to find what is the implication that Narrative Therapy can give the advancement of Korean Christian counseling as revealing how Michael White’s thoughts contributing to development of Narrative Therapy can be revalued. Through this study, there has been found that Michael White formed the unique therapy system applying interpretation and meaning of story based on the idea of cultural anthropology in early stage. Afterward he accepted constructivist view and social criticism philosophy and added sociocultural criticism giving political meaning to matters on personal and added sociocultural criticism giving political meaning to matters on personal and family’s life. Also, founding the similarities between the Christian perspective and Michael White’s though and based on this, not simply unilateral acceptance to the Christian perspective or modifying methodology, attempting recomposition of progressive part, I suggested this study can provide directions of alternative solution to the Christian counselor. Thus, this study can contribute to searching clinical implications to the Christian counselor and family therapy counselors in Korea helping comprehension of Narrative Therapy and the inventor.
