This syudy aims to offer practical counseling strategy to help clients with suicidal risk. In this study counseling strategies by theory and stage were proposed through case studies of university students. The two most widely used theories in the field psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral theories were applied for counseling strategy theory. Furthermore, counseling strategy was categorized into stages such as suicidal prevention education, crisis intervention/counseling, postvention stages and explained through case studies. Suicidal prevention education was classified into education for ordinary university students and that for experts. In addition crisis intervention and counseling were explained by the criteria and method used. Postvention was presented by completed suicides and failed suicide attempts. Furthermore, this study attempted to provide pastoral theological reflection on suicide prevention counseling.
