본 연구의 목적은 초등학생의 이성교제에 대한 질적 연구를 통해 초등학교 이성교제 교육을 위한 기초자료를 제공하고, 교회학교 이성교제 교육을 제고하는 데 있다. 연구 대상은 B시 초등학생 21명(기독교 아동 8명, 비기독교 아동 13명), 학부모 8명, 교사 8명의 총 37명으로, 현상학적 질적 연구방법을 적용하여 자료를 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 아동들의 이성교제 욕구가 증대되고 있으며 신체적 접촉 욕구도 늘어나고 있었다. 이러한 점에서 이성교제 교육 시기는 초등학교 4학년이 적합하고, 아동의 발달상황에 맞는 이성교제 교육 프로그램 개발 및 아동의 이성교제를 위한 학부모 및 교사교육이나 아동을 돕기 위한 상담전략이 필요하였다. 교육내용은 아동들이 원하는 신체적 접촉 수위, 성관계 교육과 학부모·교사가 요구하는 성순결, 성책임성 등이 요구되었다. 둘째, 초등학생들은 학교 내외에서 부모나 교사 몰래 이성친구와 신체적 접촉을 하고 있으며, 이러한 행동에는 인터넷 매체가 많은 영향을 미치고 있어 이를 견제하기 위한 정책이 시급히 요구되고 있다. 셋째, 아동의 이성교제에 대해서는 아동과 학부모, 아동과 교사 간 인식 차이가 커 이를 해소하기 위한 방안 마련이 필요시되고 있다. 본 연구 결과를 토대로 교회학교 이성교제 교육에 주는 제언을 제시하였다.
The purpose of the study is to provide the fundamental information about dating relationships for elementary school students as well as for church school students by qualitative research. A total of 37 students, 21 children (8 Christian children, 13 non–Christian children), 8 parents and 8 teachers were participated and the data was analyzed through phenomenological methods. The results were as follows. First, the children’ desires for dating relationship as well as physical contacts have been increasing, which suggested that dating relationship education and developing programs for children were needed. The curriculum contents would be comprised of physical contact, sex education, virginity or responsibility. Secondly, educational policy is necessary to block the internet media which negatively influenced to children’s desire of physical contacts. Finally, since there was perception gap among children, parents, and teachers as to the matter of dating relationship, parents and teachers were required to be educated on resolving the problem.
