본 연구의 목적은 장애자녀를 둔 목회자 아내들이 장애자녀 양육과정에서 경험하는 심리적 갈등 경험의 양상을 현상학적 연구를 통하여 심도 있게 드러내 이들에 대한 관심을 높이고 후속 연구를 위한 기초자료를 제공하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 학령기에서 청소년기 장애자녀를 둔 목회자 아내 8명을 심층 면접하여 Giorgi의 현상학적 방법론으로 분석하였고, 목회신학 방법론으로 Graham의 심리체계적 접근(psychosystemic approach)을 적용하였다. 연구 결과 장애자녀를 둔 목회자 아내의 심리적 갈등의 현상은 ‘결혼 전 개인적 신앙의 경험’, ‘장애자녀 어머니로서의 경험’, ‘목회자 아내로서의 경험’, ‘하나님 자녀로서의 경험’, ‘현재 삶에서의 경험’의 5개 범주였다. 이러한 연구 참여자들의 심리적 갈등 경험의 양상은 결국 ‘양육 갈등’, ‘역할 갈등’, ‘영적 갈등’ 등으로 더욱 ‘가중되는 고통’이 되는 것으로 드러났으며 본 연구 결과를 바탕으로 이들을 돌볼 수 있는 구체적 지원체계를 마련하기 위한 기독교 상담학적 논의를 제시하였다.
The purpose of this paper is to understand the nature of multi–dimensional troubles of pastors’ wives who have disabled children. Their troubles are directly related with physical and economical difficulties caused by their disabled children. However, more serious problems are followed in their inner self both psychologically and spiritually. For the research I selected eight case people and had in depth–interview. They could fall into various negative emotions such as shock, sorrow, languor, guilty feeling, anger, and doubt. I focused on the emotional progress and how these women respond to each stage. Their troubles were a complex mixture between vocational identity and practical needs. Both dimensions are closely linked within their identity and relationship. I used Larry Graham’s theory of ‘psychosystem’ to analyze their stories from their childhood to present situation focusing on their psychological progress. Ultimately this research is to provide reconstruction for their lives.
