This purpose of this study is to suggest a new direction for art education by exploring the relationship be-tween the 2022 Revised Korean National Art Curriculum and Democratic Citizenship Education. Democratic Citizenship Education is ‘education that supports students to realize that they are the masters of themselves and their community life, and to solve the problems of the community to which they belong through mutual solidarity through critical thinking.’ Based on this, the core competencies of Democratic Citizenship Education are seen as 'a sense of ownership of oneself and the community', 'critical thinking ability', and 'the ability to solve community problems through mutual solidarity', and the 2022 Revised Korean National Curriculum overview and The relationship between 2022 Revised Korean National Art Curriculum was explored. As a result of the study, the core values presented in the general theory are 'student agen-cy(agency, responsibility, active attitude)', 'creativity and innovation(problem solving, convergent thinking, challenge)', and 'inclusiveness and citizenship(consideration, communication, cooperation, empathy, and sense of community)’ were widely reflected in Democratic Citizenship Education and the 2022 Revised Korean National Art Curriculum. Based on the research results, the implementation plan for art education based on Democratic Citizenship Education is 1) New literacy education that cultivates visual critical skills: From the eyes of 'watching' to the eyes of 'thinking' 2) Art education that fosters social imagination: Creatively solving life problems 3) A new appreciation education that empathizes and communicates: creat-ing a community culture together.
