본 연구는 2022 개정 미술과 교육과정과 민주시민교육의 관계 탐색을 통해 미술교육의 새로운 방향을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 민주시민교육은 ‘학생이 자기 자신과 공동체적 삶의 주인임을 자각하고, 비판적 사고를 통해 자신이 속한 공동체의 문제를 상호 연대하여 해결할 수 있도록 지원하는 교육’이다. 이에 기반하여 민주시민교육의 핵심 역량을 ‘자신과 공동체에 대한 주인 의식’, ‘비판적 사고 능력’, ‘공동체의 문제를 상호 연대하여 해결하는 능력’으로 보고, 2022 개정 교육과정 총론과 2022 개정 미술과 교육과정과의 관계를 탐색했다. 연구 결과, 총론에서 제시하는 핵심 가치인 ‘자기 주도성(주도성, 책임감, 적극적 태도)’, ‘창의와 혁신(문제해결, 융합적 사고, 도전)’, ‘포용성과 시민성(배려, 소통, 협력, 공감, 공동체 의식)’이 민주시민교육과 2022 개정 미술과 교육과정에 폭넓게 반영되었음을 확인했다. 연구 결과를 토대로 민주시민교육에 기초한 미술교육의 실행 방안을 1)시각적 비판 능력을 기르는 새로운 리터러시 교육: ‘구경’하는 눈에서 ‘사유’하는 눈으로 2)사회적 상상력을 기르는 미술교육: 삶의 문제를 창의적으로 해결하기 3)공감하고 대화하는 새로운 감상 교육: 공동체 문화를 함께 만들어가기로 제시했다.
This purpose of this study is to suggest a new direction for art education by exploring the relationship be-tween the 2022 Revised Korean National Art Curriculum and Democratic Citizenship Education. Democratic Citizenship Education is ‘education that supports students to realize that they are the masters of themselves and their community life, and to solve the problems of the community to which they belong through mutual solidarity through critical thinking.’ Based on this, the core competencies of Democratic Citizenship Education are seen as 'a sense of ownership of oneself and the community', 'critical thinking ability', and 'the ability to solve community problems through mutual solidarity', and the 2022 Revised Korean National Curriculum overview and The relationship between 2022 Revised Korean National Art Curriculum was explored. As a result of the study, the core values presented in the general theory are 'student agen-cy(agency, responsibility, active attitude)', 'creativity and innovation(problem solving, convergent thinking, challenge)', and 'inclusiveness and citizenship(consideration, communication, cooperation, empathy, and sense of community)’ were widely reflected in Democratic Citizenship Education and the 2022 Revised Korean National Art Curriculum. Based on the research results, the implementation plan for art education based on Democratic Citizenship Education is 1) New literacy education that cultivates visual critical skills: From the eyes of 'watching' to the eyes of 'thinking' 2) Art education that fosters social imagination: Creatively solving life problems 3) A new appreciation education that empathizes and communicates: creat-ing a community culture together.
