This research is to discuss the need for curriculum reform in universities'
social welfare department in order to foster professionals who can deal with the
diversity in the social welfare field and fulfill the diverse needs of end users.
Hence, this paper delves into the introduction of the welfare education system in
developed countries, and its implications for Korea's social welfare education. The
conclusion of this research is that the following courses are required to foster
welfare professionals who can cope with various needs in a changing environment:
mandatory course in social service management theory(voucher welfare business
theory), care welfare theory, social welfare management theory, social enterprise
theory, etc. Also to manage the younger generation's problems such as serious
internet game addictions, youth welfare course necessitates revision and
supplementary materials.
