The purpose of this paper is to search for the development direction of
business ethics education within current Korean HRD (Human Resource
Development). Therefore, this paper analyzed the major problems of
business ethics in contemporary Korean society. Connected with this,
analyzed for ethics educational characteristics, features, study fields, reality
& ideals, and assignments within current Korean HRD.
As a result, this paper provides as follows: “Features and Fields of
Business Ethics”, “Reality & Ideals of HRD Business Ethics Education”,
and “Assignments of HRD Business Ethics Education.”
A main implication of this paper is what we understand that the contents
of business ethical subjects are various in terms of international
organizations, domestic civilian & NGOs, individual companies, and Korean
government. Another is that HRD business ethics education is classified
into two domains, “1) teaching of ethical norms” and “2) enlightenment of
ethical consciousness.” It shows that “teaching of ethical norms” depends
upon “enlightenment of ethical consciousness.” In considering this, it is
necessary to design newly variant business ethics education programs within current Korean HRD.
