The purpose of this study is to ascertain the values of literary texts as language learning resources which can be efficiently utilized in EFL students. This can be possible by way of analyzing the interrelationship between language, culture and literature in order to clarify their roles in language teaching, and to identify the value of literature texts as a sociocultural resource to apprehend the deep structure of the culture. In fact, literature has been ignored in the English classes for it has always focused on the development of phonetic ability. However, literature has a lot of potential strong points as the material for English classes, which are able to study valuable expression, to understand the culture and to find out the motive for studying, as the literature is the art by means of language. Though there are many pros and cons about using literature for English education, literature helps students not only improve their language skills such as speaking, listening, writing, reading integratively, but also shows them useful syntactic forms including stylistic word order which otherwise they do not encounter in their daily lives. Because of its possibility of various interpretations for a situation, literature is suitable for student-centered education.
