The purpose of this study is to present some measure for improvement of transition ed
ucation by analyzing special classes teachers' curriculum organized status for transition ed
ucation, their understanding of transition education and the transition education realities of
middle school special classes. I questionnaired special class teachers of a southwestern are
a in seoul and investigated the curriculum management realities, the teachers' understandin
g extent of transition education, current problem, and reform measures of transition educat
ion in middle school special classes. The results of the study show that the teachers have
difficulty in the selection of education contents without any curriculum exclusively made
for middle school special classes. They also responded that the reason the transition educa
tion is not become accomplished well was studying method and facility commodity insuff
iciency. In view of transition education reform measures, most respondents proposed to in
crease in-service training programs, to establishment the exclusive responsibility station w
hich is the possibility to development and supply transition education program, and to arr
angment 1-2 person exclusive responsibility consultation teacher or occupation exclusive r
esponsibility itinerant teacher in a metropolitan or district office of education.
