The purpose of this study is to analyze the satisfaction and needs of special school
teachers on the social studies textbooks which developed on 2008 according to the new
special education course and to execute the qualitative evaluation of them and to develop
the improvement plan. To accomplish this research, we practice the questionaries about
the satisfaction of science studies textbooks to 98 special school teachers who work in the
special schools in all different region.
The result of survey is as following.
First of all, the general organization such as the chapter, the level, the connection
between curriculum is very good.
Second, as in the contents, it contains energy, matter, life, the earth and even it
reflects the individual qualities to make them to participate, so it was good.
Third, the illustration, the picture, and the activity materials in the text book was
well-arranged.
Forth, an aspect of the application and popularities, it needed to be more adjusted with
the student abilities, and a supplying individual text book preparation is a urgent matter.
Fifth, an aspect of improvement, existing textbooks which organized with 3 levels needed
to be organized with 7 levels and developing supplement textbooks are suggested.
