본 연구는 중․고등학교 교과서의 명제 단원을 분석해 본 것이다. 학생들이 명제단원의 내용을 정확 히 이해하는 데 어려움은 없는지 살펴보기 위한 것인데 중학교 8-나 단계 교과서 13종과, 고등학교 10-가 단계 교과서 11종을 분석하였다. 분석 결과 학생들이 명제 단원의 여러 내용을 이해하기에는 설 명이 충분치 못하고 전개가 비약적인 부분이 여러 곳이 있었다. 첫째, 필요한 기호와 용어는 최소량으로 하되 단계적으로 서술될 수 있는 만큼은 유지되어야하며, 둘째, p→q의 명제는 중학교에서 학생들의 이 해를 돕기 위한 다른 방안이 모색되어야하며, 셋째, 기호와 용어의 의미가 정확히 전달될 수 있도록 설명 하는 방법에 세심한 주의가 필요하다. 끝으로 명제의 참, 거짓과 역, 이, 대우, 필요충분조건 등을 소개할 때 기호논리학적인 방법보다는 고전논리학적인 방법이 더 적절하다고 생각된다.
The education in the mathematics puts emphasis on the development of an ability to think and manage logically. The content of the mathematics is the abstract subject; hence, on the basis of the intuitional perception, a logical expansion is described as a form of the proposition and is made up of the logic that discloses whether the proposition is true or false. Therefore, with respect to the textbooks of both the 8-Na level of the middle school and the 10-Ga level of the high school, I examine how the definition of the terms in the field of the proposition, which is based on the study of the mathematics in all the other units, is expressed. The content of this thesis is following below. First, I observe the topics, which the educational curriculum and the proposition unit deal with, and their relevance. Second, I observed the problems that the guidance of the proposition occurs in the present mathematics education of both middle and high school when I consider the definitions and terms on the basis of the mathematics textbooks.
