본 연구는 사회경제적 지위가 중학생의 학업성취에 영향을 주는 과정에서 문화자본과 교사의 기 대지각의 매개효과 및 그 구조적 관계를 분석하기 위하여 수행되었다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 사회경제적 지위가 문화자본을 매개로 학업성취에 이르는 경 로와 사회경제적 지위가 교사기대 지각을 매개로 학업성취에 이르는 경로를 각각 분석한 구조모 형Ⅰ보다 문화자본이 교사기대 지각에 미치는 영향을 추가하여 사회경제적 지위, 문화자본, 교사 기대 지각, 학업성취 간의 관계를 살펴본 구조모형 Ⅱ의 적합도 지수가 더 높았다. 둘째, 최종모형 으로 선택된 구조모형 Ⅱ의 잠재변수간 효과분해 결과를 보면, 사회경제적 지위는 문화자본, 교사 기대 지각, 학업성취에, 교사기대 지각은 학업성취에 직접효과를 나타냈다. 반면 문화자본은 교사 기대 지각을 매개로 학업성취에 간접적인 영향을 나타냈다. 이는 교사기대 지각이 사회경제적 지 위에 따라 차등적으로 분배된 문화자본의 영향을 받고 있으며, 교사로부터 긍정적 기대를 받은 학 생들은 학업성취가 높다는 것을 의미한다.
The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships between socio-economic status, cultual capital, perceived teacher\'s expectancy and academic achievement. The results were summarized as follows; First, Structural model Ⅱ is better fitted than the model Ⅰ. It was proved that Structural model Ⅱ is a more suitable model to explain the process how socio-economic status influences academic achievement. Second, socio-economic status has direct effect on cultual capital, perceived teachers\' expectancy and students\' academic achievement. In addition, perceived teachers\' expectancy has direct effect on academic achievement. The indirect effect of cultual capital mediated by perceived teachers\' expectancy on academic achievement was stronger than the direct effect of cultual capital on academic achievement. Moreover, the direct effect was not statistically significant. This result indicates that perceived teachers\' expectancy is strongly influenced by cultural capital. The higher perceived teachers\' expectancy was, the higher student\'s academic achievement was.
