The rapidly growing technology based society expects teachers at all grade levels to do more with less time while incorporating new technology into the curriculum. The sudden explosion of growth in the use of personal computers and the internet in the past 10 years have created a clear technology gap between teachers who can use the new technology versus teachers who are reluctant to use the new technology. More troublesome is the gap that is being created between the students who have now grown up with the new technology versus the teachers who are not yet comfortable with the new technology. In this paper, a set of recommendations for developing a website for teachers is suggested to help the professional development of teachers. The recommendations were developed from reserach project implementing the Ewha Resource for Mathematics Teachers website at Ewha University. A teacher’s website on the internet with a knowledge base system to gather and share the experience and knowledge of all teachers can be an effective way of helping teachers learn from other teachers and also to develop better instructional methods for teaching. In order to achieve this goal, 1) the teachers must be given adequate training on computers and the internet, 2) focused and easy to use site must be designed, 3) pilot school programs should be carried out and 4) continuous development must be maintained. The success of such a site should become a valuable tool for improving the education for future students.
