현재 TV 교육 방송(케이블 TV의 교육 채널 포함)에서 방영되는 과학 프로그램의 단일화된 포맷의 문제점과 해결 방안을 찾기 위하여 선행 논문들을 고찰하고 TV 교육 방송(케이블 TV의 교육 채널 포함)의 주간 편성표를 학년별로 조사ㆍ분석하였으며, 설문지를 제작, 배포하여 중ㆍ고등학생들의 견해를 조사하였고, TV 교육 방송의 과학 프로그램이 나아가야 할 방향을 모색했다. 그 결과 TV 교육 방송 과학 프로그램의 활성화와 개선을 위하여 필요한 방안은 다음과 같다. 학생들의 과학에 대한 흥미를 유발시키고 창의적인 사고력을 높이기 위해서는 프로그램의 구성이 과학적 개념 및 내용과 함께 탐구 의욕을 유발시킬 수 있는 다양한 장면과 실험을 적절히 배합하고 제공되는 자료를 다양하고 독창적인 것으로 해야 한다. 그리고 프로그램의 내용의 양과 시간 배정의 불만족을 해소하기 위해서는 내용의 범위를 좁혀 교실 상황에서 볼 수 없고, 실시하기 어려운 장면이나 실험 등을 제공하는 방향으로 편성되어야 한다. 또한 학생들을 적극적으로 TV 과학 프로그램에 참여시키기 위해서는 스튜디오 교사의 일방적인 설명을 줄이고, 과학적 현상을 추리하고 통찰해 볼 수 있는 사고 위주 학습을 위한 프로그램으로 구성되어야 한다. 교육 방송의 과학 프로그램을 다큐멘터리나 드라마， 만화(애니메이션) 형식 등과 같이 다양한 포맷으로 제작하여 학생들의 흥미를 유발시키고, 학습 효과도 높일 수 있는 프로그램을 개발해야 한다. 홍보를 강화하고 시청 대상자의 특성이나 요구 분석 등을 철저히 파악하여 과감히 수용하여야 한다.
To find out the problems of uniformed science subject program showing on TV(including educational channel of Cable TV) and their solutions, the weekly programs on TV educational science program were analyzed the questionaries were distributed to the middle and high school students for surveying their opinion on science program on TV. Based on results, the following conditions about activation and future direction of present TV science program were suggested. 1. To give rise to student's interest about science and to develope creative thinking power, the structure of science program must properly be harmonized with scientific concept, contents, diverse scenes, and experiments which can induce scientific investigation power. Diverse and original data must be presented to science programs. 2. To improve the quantity of science programs and the contents, TV programs must restrict the extent of scientific contents. 3. For students to positively participate in TV science programs, one-sided teacher's explanation must be reduced and problem-solving ability must be considered first. 4. Programs that induce students' interest and involvement in studying must be developed. 5. Public information must be strengthened and the characteristic and requirement of TV viewers must completely be analyzed and must daringly be received.
