The purpose of this study was to develop a elementary color education
program based on whole-brain learning, and then examine the effects of the
program. The program was developed based on the ADDIE model which is
one of the most representative instructional system development models. To
test the effect of the program, 222 higher-grade students were participated
from C and H elementary schools located in Busan. The above program were
applied to all the three classes from Oct. 4 to Nov. 1, 2010. Specifically,
5th-grade students participated in the program over total 3 sessions on one
session per week basis and 6th-grade ones, total 2 sessions on the same
basis in order to determine whether the experimental group of color education
based on whole-brain learning was improved in emotional intelligence more
than the control group. Measurement devices for the study included Emotional
Intelligence. Difference between the pre-and post-tests using the devices,
especially mean difference, was analyzed through ANCOVA. The post-hoc
analysis of emotional intelligence was made using Duncan test. The results
from the study were as follows. The experimental group who received color
education based on whole-brain learning was improved in emotional
intelligence more than another of color education.
