Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the recognition of multicultural families and cultural diversity in nursing
college students. Method: The participants included 400 nursing college students by a convenience sample method and
agreed to participate in the study. The data were collected from April, 1 to May, 14, 2011 and analysed using SPSS/PC
Win 17.0 program. Result: The major finding were as follows; 1) The recognition of multicultural families score was
3.99±0.50 points and cultural diversity score was 3.36±0.68 points. 2) There were significant positive relationships
among recognition of multicultural families and cultural diversity(r=.319, p=.001). Conclusion: Therefore it's needed to develop
multicultural education program for the higher recognition of multicultural families and cultural diversity in nursing
college students.
