Purpose: This study was designed to develop the components of cultural competency needed by nursing college students of multicultural society. Methods: The subjects were 134 who are students in nursing college which are located in Gangwon-do. The data collected September, 2012 were analyzed by the SPSS program, using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA. Results: The average of cultural competency was 3,41(0.45) points. Difference in cultural awareness and cultural attitude according to individual and multicultural factor was none. Differences in knowledge and skill according to individual and multicultural factor were as follows: grade, and contact in usual activities. Conclusion: The findings suggest that board intervention programs should be provided to prevent problems of multicultural families. It is also recommended that a program be developed that can help control the variables identified in this study along with follow up study to verify the model.
