A discussion of the New Sports in physical education at the elementary school level can be
approached in various ways, and research on New Sports can be expected to play a much
larger role in a trivial way in research into physical education. Hence, the purpose of this study
was to research the educational possibilities and limitations of New sports. For this purpose,
the participants, over four months, were four (2 girls, and 2 boys) fifth graders from Gaeul
Elementary School in the I city and a teacher. The data were collected through participants'
journals about physical education lessons. The data were transcribed and coded for domain and
classification analysis. The results of the study indicate, first, that the educational possibilities
were 'interest and satisfaction', 'novel approach', 'flow', and 'extent'. Second, there were
educational limitations in the application process: Do they advance the objectives of physical
education lessons with only interest? Can they guarantee objectivity through subjective
experiences? and What do teachers do in the learner-centered activities?
