The aim of this article is to clarify the meaning of Spinoza's concept of value by analysing his concept of good and evil and, through this clarification, to refute the relativistic interpretation of spinoza's axiology. Spinoza, on the one hand, claims that the concept of good and evil is a kind of mode of thinking, but, on the other hand, he asserts that summum bonum exists. Many spinoza scholars interpret spinoza's axiology as a relativistic theory, because they think Spinoza's theis that the concept of good and evil is a kind of mode of thinking means those concept are depend on our perceptions and cognitions. However, such a relativistic interpretation is right, the concept of summum bonum will be impossible in Spinoza's philosophy, in that case, Spinoza's ethical project will fall to the impossible illusion. Firstly, I showed the thesis that the concept of good and evil is a kind of mode of thinking didn't imply any kind of relativism through analysis of various concept(ion)s of good and evil. Despite the fact that the concept of good and evil is relative to any model, we can make an abjective value judgment based on that model in the sense that we can know certainly something good or something bad through that model. In the second place, I showed that the value relativity thesis could be compatible with the concept of summum bonum through the concept of the non-circumstantially relative(relational) good. It follows from those claims aforementioned that Spinoza's ethical project aims at the unity of happiness and virtue.
