본 연구는 유아특수교육기관에 근무하고 있는 교사가 장애유아평가 관련 자질을 어느 정도 갖추고 있는지를 파악하여 교사의 장애유아평가 전문성을 높이기 위한 방안을 모색하는 데 중요한 정보를 얻고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 장애유아평가 관련 자질의 전반적인 습득도와 교사변인에 따른 장애유아평가 관련 자질의 습득도에 대한 유아특수교육기관 교사의 인식을 살펴보았다. 연구 대상은 부산, 경남, 울산의 유아특수교육기관 교사 113명이며, 설문지를 이용한 조사연구를 수행하였다. 자료처리와 분석은 SPSS 18.0 Windows용 통계프로그램을 이용하여 전산처리하였다. 이러한 과정을 거쳐 얻어진 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유아특수교육기관 교사는 장애유아평가 관련 자질의 습득도에 대하여 ‘보통’ 수준 이상으로 인식하고 있었다. 둘째, 습득도에 대한 인식을 교사변인별로 살펴본 결과, 교육경력이 높은 교사, 특수학급에서 근무하는 교사, 4년제 대학과 대학원 과정에서 특수교육을 전공한 교사, 유아특수교사 자격증을 소지한 교사가 장애유아평가 관련 자질의 습득도가 높다고 인식하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 현재 유아특수교육기관에서 근무하는 교사를 대상으로 장애유아평가 관련 자질을 신장시키는 구체적인 방안을 강구하여 유아특수교육의 질을 제고할 것을 제안하였다.
The purpose of this study was to examine the awareness of teachers in charge of disabled preschooler evaluation in early childhood special education institutions about the importance of teacher qualifications related to disabled preschooler evaluation. The subjects in this study were 113 special education teachers working in public special schools, private special schools, special classes in public kindergartens and daycare centers for disabled preschoolers only in Busan, South Gyeongsang Province and Ulsan. A survey was conducted, and the collected data were analyzed by the statistical package SPSS WIN 18.0. The findings of the study were as follows: the teachers who worked in the early childhood special education institutions gave a lot of weight to the qualifications in general. It’s concluded that the teachers who worked in the early childhood special education institutions were well cognizant of the importance of teacher qualifications related to disabled preschooler evaluation. It indicated that the teachers were well aware of the necessity of the six kinds of qualifications related to disabled preschooler evaluation. To boost the professionalism of teachers related to disabled preschooler evaluation, the preparation of systematic disabled preschooler evaluation criteria and the establishment of an efficient evaluation system are mandatory.
