The purpose of this study is to consider the ideology, content, and method of special
education, on the foundation of the thought of Foucault's Archeology and Genealogy. In order
to purpose, this study investigated Foucault's Archeology and Genealogy, and special education
The results obtained from this study were as follows: First, Foucault' thought imply that the
ideology of special education is achieved to an equality which admits the multiplicity and
difference from an equality by normalization. Therefore the ideology of special education should
aim an equality idea which every children are educated fairly. Second, Foucault' thought imply
that the content of special education is achieved to an equal educational content of general
education from special educational content. Therefore, because the separation of educational
contents is to make the position of the other more strong by pulling out the students with
disabilities from general education, the contents of special education should change into a
direction being same with contents of general education. Third, Foucault' thought imply that
the method of special education is achieved to a integrated education method from a separative
education method. Therefore, because the separative education was begun in the purpose of
excluding the disabled children, in order to enhance the education efficiency in general
education, the method of special education should head toward integrated Education that is
respectful of the students with disabilities and admitted to difference. Therefore, special
education is implicated that it should be oriented at not the normalization but the multiplicity in
order to offer equal education for every children, supporting the students with disabilities to
learn same things which the normal students learn, and educating by integrating with the
normal students for the purpose of all children advance.
