In this paper, I discuss monism, pluralism, and relativism which are the most important trends in philosophy of culture and I defend pluralism by showing the possibility of pluralism by using complementarity. Complementarity is from physics describing nature. So, there is no necessary reason to apply the philosophy of complementarity to cultural phenomena. Complementarity is the philosophy which resolves the paradoxical experiences while keeping realism against anti-realism and constructivism. This seems similar to the task of pluralism to be realistic philosophy of culture. In my view, the principle of charity of Quine-Davidson is interpreting contradictory cultures and integrate them into one picture. Pluralism accepts truth as universal but does not believe that the various cultures can be interpreted under one culture. Therefore to accept pluralism we need a new theory of interpretation. I argue that Bohr's philosophy of complementarity can be a good model for pluralism, although it is an introductory level.
