교사들이 학교조직에서 경험하는 직무스트레스는 교사 개인의 건강 뿐만 아니라 직무성과나 직무만족에 영향을 주며 나아가 전체 교육전달체계의 효과성에도 부정적인 결과를 초래한다. 이러한 직무스트레스와 그 유발요인들은 교사 개인의 욕구와 학교조직 및 그 환경과의 상호작용 속에서 발생되며 긍정적 효과를 발휘하여 개인과 조직에게 발전과 성장의 기회를 제공하는가 하면, 역으로 부정적 결과를 초래하는 양면성을 지니고 있으므로 그 예방관리전략도 학교조직적 차원과 교사 개인적 차원의 두 가지 방법을 병행하여 수립하여야만 교사의 건강과 학교조직의 건강 및 효과성을 유지•향상시킬 수 있다. 따라서 학교조직내에서 발생되는 교사들의 직무스트레스 유발요인들과 그에 따른 교사들의 개인적 조절요인들을 파악하여 부정적 효과를 최소화하는 학교조직수준과 교사 개인수준에서의 직무스트레스 예방관리전략을 모색하였다.
Teacher's job stress is becoming an extremely important concern in school organization. It is generally associated with several vital individual physiological, and behavioral symptoms. There are at least two reasons for studying teacher's job stress. First, mismanaged and unprevented teacher's job stress can produce the damage done to the school's human resources due to strain and distress, such as low productivity or poor performance. Second, When teacher's job stress is properly managed and prevented, It can lead to improved individual health, job satisfaction, school organizational health and school organizational effectiveness. My study on this topic suggests that there is a relationship between teacher's stress and their perceptions of the school organizational environment. But these teacher job stress could arise either because the school organizational environment is a source of stress or because individual teachers react to that environment differently. In other words, organizational levels of teacher stress are related to organizational sources of stress and organizational stressors arise from the conditions of work. Environmental stressors, therefore, arising from oranizational environment were seen to affect the stress level in the school as a whole. By contrast, individual level of teacher stress in a given school may vary directly with their perceptions and attitudes of organizational source of stress. These my notions about stress are generally being a type of Person - Environment fit. emphasizes the importance of maintaining optinum level of stress to maximize teacher performance and think that the necessity of preventive management strategy must be emphasized on a model for action as two point of views(Person-Environment). Thus, I focused my attention on the identification of job stressors, its effects and develop preventive management strategies by which teachers can most effectively manage, prevent, reduce their stress in order to facilitate a greater effectiveness and health in school organization level as well as in individual level. In conclusion, to maximize effectiveness and health in school organization, to buffer teacher's job stress, school administrator must build preventive management strategy and provide teachers with guide for action of it.
