The high level of the professional ethics is required in teaching profession. Then, the arguments about the ethics of teaching profession in Korea are still at an early stage. This study tries to establish the ethics of teaching profession based on duty ethics, virtue ethics and care ethics. Kant ethics emphasizes moral duty, the autonomy of will, and the dignity of man. Virtue ethics, primarily in Aristotle, MacIntyre, emphasizes communitarian virtues, social practices, and the narrative unity of human life. Care ethics, primarily in Noddings, emphasizes caring and honest dialogue. Deontic ethics requires teachers to take cool and universal morality, to respect the human right of all pupils. This view implies 'personal principles' in the ethics of teaching profession. Virtue ethics requires teachers to be virtuous agent and to cultivate communitarian virtues for pupils. This view implies 'communitarian virtues' in the ethics of teaching profession. Care ethics emphasizes teachers to care the pupils with warm mind. Teachers have to communicate with pupils on their level. This view implies 'care relationship' in the ethics of teaching profession. Three ethics have theoretical backgrounds in the ethics of teaching profession with particular aspects and complementary ones. This helps to establish various and plural views in the ethics of teaching profession.
