The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the moderating effects of
psychological capital on the relationship between job search self-efficacy and
employment-preparation behavior.
In order to achieve the research purpose, a survey questionnaire was
developed based on literature review on the field and was conducted to college
students at a university in Chun-An city. The final 280 cases were included for
data analysis, using IBM SPSS 21.0 statistics package.
The results are as follows: firstly, job search self-efficacy affects on
employment-preparation behavior of college students. Secondly, the group with
high psychological capital shows relatively high level of employment-preparation
behavior. Thirdly, psychological capital was found to moderate the relationship
between job search self-efficacy and employment-preparation behavior.
The implications of this study are as follows: first, more active and practical
intervention strategies for improving college students’ job search self-efficacy
are needed in order to facilitate more active employment-preparation behavior.
Second, a various of indirect, positive, emotional intervention strategies are also
be considered in order to facilitate college students’ active employmentpreparation
behavior.
