The study showed a sandplay therapy case for a 5th grade boy having passive aggression problems, such as arson, disobedience to authority etc. His parents showed inappropriate parenting, such as neglect and severe physical punishment. The goal of the therapy was to make the client express the lack of needs satisfaction under the free and protected space to recover his impaired ego. There were 69 sessions. In the initial parts of therapy(1-6, the expression of his parents and situations), the client showed his poor situations in the first sandtray by putting a boat poked by a shovel. This scene displayed the image of his negative father who prevented his mother's movement. In the second session, the client showed neglect he experienced by putting a baby in a bed alone and helplessness of a disable girl in a wheelchair who seemed to represent him. In the intermediate sessions(7-64, the struggling with war, fire, capital punishment play, car accident), he repeated wars, fire plays, capital punishments and car accidents with hospital playing, constructing, cooking and physical training. In the final parts(65-69, the rescuing people from disaster and fire), he showed “Rescue Forces” which suppressed disasters and saved people. This study showed the effectiveness of sandplay therapy since the client was freed from passive aggression problems.
