This article attempts to propose a scheme on the policies and strategies of the heritage
education and the culture & arts education through comparing the characteristics of the
heritage education to that of the culture & arts education required in the period of cultural
prosperity, and comparing the qualification, capacity, and certificate system of the heritage
educator and the museum educator.
The heritage education puts an important point on the original form conservation of
traditional culture, establishes the identity of Korean history and culture through learning
and acquiring the value, significance, and importance, and focuses on raising the
qualification of Korean life style. On the other hand, the culture & arts education puts an
important points on the originality and innovation of Korean culture &arts included the
multi-culture families, and focuses on enjoying the culture & arts of the harmony society
respecting for the cultural diversity, the culture pluralism, the culture rights, and the human
rights through culture & arts, and building the citizen’s capacity required in the period
culture prosperity.
Though there are partly in common between the heritage educator’s occupational
categories, duties, scholarships, experiences, qualifications, capacities, expertises,
competences, and skills, and the culture & arts educator’s duties, scholarships, experiences
and certificate system, on the other hand there are a lot of difference in the perspective
their duties, expertises, capabilities, and skill systems. Thus it is desirable that their
certificate systems should be differentiated each other. As the common requisites of the
heritage educator and the museum educators in the aspect of each duties, occupational
categories, scholarships, experiences, qualifications, capacities, expertises, capabilities, and
skill systems are required, it is necessary to unify the heritage educators’ and the museum
educator’s certificate system.
The ultimate policies and strategies of the heritage education and culture & arts
education required in the period of culture prosperity focus on the qualification
improvement of community life, and the culture enjoyment of global community. Not only
the heritage education and culture & arts education contribute to improve the qualification
of sustainable community life style, but also the policies and strategies should be projected
and executed to improve the sustainable development of community through providing the
sources of creative industry and supplying the driving forces of creative economy to the
community.
