The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of disability
understanding activities on young children's acceptance attitudes toward peers
with disabilities and pre-service early childhood special education teacher's
teaching efficacy applied journal writing. For an optimal examination, 20 young
children of four-five years age participated disability understanding activities for
10 weeks, 30 minutes per session. children's attitude toward handicapped test
were conducted on before and after disability understanding activities. Also,
pre-service early childhood special education teacher's teaching efficacy were
analyzed qualitatively through journal writing on before and after disability
understanding activities.
The results of the study are as follows; First, the participants showed
significant difference on young children's emotion-behavior acceptance attitudes.
Second, pre-service early childhood special education teacher's teaching efficacy
reported teaching confidence and enhanced teaching skills, reflective thinking as
pre-service early childhood special education teacher from journal writing.
